The best thing about Aldeburgh is location, location, location, frequent and varied events and its friendly inhabitants.
Mike, many people agree with you!
To stand in a pub and talk to a fisherman (not an angler!), a writer, an artist, a Sizewell worker, a chef, a retired financier, assorted office workers, RNLI staff, economists, shop-keepers.... Not places can claim such a diverse population in such a small place. No one cares how much money you have but that you do have something to give. Then the walk home - beautiful!
Its cultural and, maritime, history, the sea the prom, and its bracing sea air and healthy lifestyle,,great walks, and unspoilt charm, esp in the off season months. The small independent shops, and the varied events taking place here. the beauty of the landscape and its unique buildings, and people, the steps to the terrace, and the wonderfull views from here, lets keep it that way..
Many thanks Margaret for your comments all duly noted and there is some resonance with the views of others.
